Shanghai East Hospital was founded in 1920. It has integrated medication, teaching and research as a whole and met the standard fora comprehensive hospital of thethird-level grade-A hospital. It was conferred by the central government as “National Model Hospital” in February 2015.

The hospital has two campus, that is,the north and south campus, which are located in Lujiazui financial and economic area in Pudong new district and the Exhibition Park in Shanghai. It has covered an area of 160,000 square meters and owned more than 2000 open beds. Recently the 90,000-square-meter building that is being built will add another 500 beds.The number of outpatient patients in 2015 is 2.74 million which includes 50,000 foreign patients and about 6,3200who come from HongKong, Macau,Taiwan and other western developed countries. The hospital owns many advanced medical equipmentsworth 0.8 billion RMB including SOMATOM DefinitionFlash CT, MRI3.0T, Targeting EDGE Radiosurgery System, ultrhuge-pad DSA,PET-CT,assistant recycling systems and so on.

The hospital has 61 clinical medical technology rooms and a faculty more than 2,800 that include more than 400 doctors withsenior titles,69 doctoral supervisors and 105 master supervisors. We have 26 staff elected as Academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National one-thousand talents’ Plan, Academicians of Yangtze of the department of education.
